DIRECT HIRE: Seeking an Estimator with Roofing Estimation Experience for a direct hire opportunity with our client, a well-established roofing contractor based in the College Park, MD. area.

Salary is between $85K - $120K per year (based on experience).

In this role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing the costs associated with roofing projects, analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive time, cost, and labor estimates.

Responsibilities:

• Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and other documents to develop comprehensive estimates.
• Conduct site visits to gather necessary information and assess project scope, identifying required materials and understanding project complexities.
• Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and clients to understand project requirements and constraints.
• Utilize estimating software (Edge) and tools to compile accurate and competitive bids.
• Maintain detailed records of all estimates, proposals, and bid documents.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, permits, and other relevant expenses.
• Provide customers with detailed quotes and explanations of the scope of work and associated costs.
• Negotiate contracts with clients to ensure favorable terms and profitable work.
• Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and best practices to ensure accurate and current estimates.
• Provide support during the project execution phase, including cost tracking and variance analysis.
• Assist with project management tasks such as change order proposals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, addressing their needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
• Conduct regular client meetings to gather feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate closely with other departments, including operations and finance, to ensure alignment of initiatives with overall business goals.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment on project expectations.
• Review workload/current backlog with operations to verify the tentative start date.
• Conduct full handoff/presentation to the project management department.
• Perform any other duties needed to help drive the company's vision, fulfill its mission, and abide by its values.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in estimation, preferably in the roofing or commercial construction industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, construction management, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree (preferred).
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Xactimate, PlanSwift, Edge) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits.
