Job Description

We are seeking an experienced CDL Truck driver who is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of regional products to our customers, while driving flat bed (straight truck). The driver is tasked with driving and maintaining trucks and works with the shipping department to plan routes and track deliveries. A CDL Class B is required. Successful candidates must have clean driving record and must pass a drug test. 

  Responsibilities

Safety

• Promote and engage in a safe work environment
• Report safety incidents
• Display good housekeeping in work areas
• Ensure adherence to OSHA and Onex safety policies
• Adherence to DOT Laws

  Planning and Scheduling

• Communicates with construction foreman on job deliveries
• Maintains cleanliness of trucks
• Assist with maintenance schedule of trucks
• Assist in shop during trucking downtime
• Efficiency in deliveries (i.e. multiple deliveries per trip)

 Productivity

• Completes deliveries in a timely manner with most efficient driving route
• Works to overcome delivery challenges to keep the job on schedule
• Reports any alterations in truck route to shop supervisor
• Identify ways to improve efficiency
• Ensures proper use of Electronic Logging Device (ELD)

  Quality

• Proper loading of trucks including weight restrictions, proper tie downs and tarping
• Ensures timely delivery with no damaged materials, tools, or equipment

  Client Interface

• Communicates effectively with the client
• Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries with clients

  Administration

• The truck driver is accountable for the preparation of reports as required by the employer
• Completes required reports and turns them in on time (i.e. timecard, ELD tracking)
• Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries with clients

Qualifications

• Has a valid Commercial Drivers Class B (CDL) Pennsylvania Driver’s License
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• OSHA 10-Hour Training
• Forklift Certification

Physical Requirements

• Requires moving one's whole body, such as climbing, lifting, kneeling, balancing, walking, stooping, and bending
• Activities often require considerable use and coordination of the arms, hands, fingers, and legs, such as in the physical handling of equipment and materials
• Requires stamina to physical exertion over long periods of time
• Must be able to move or handle equipment and materials generally weighing up to 75 pounds
• DOT Physical Requirements
• Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment Drug screen and subject to random Drug Testing upon hire–

• Wear PPE in field environment

Work Environment

• Long hours driving
• Moving mechanical parts
• Fumes or airborne particles
• Outside weather conditions
• Loud noise levels in the work site
