The Department of Neurology at the University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a board-certified/eligible Neurologist with specialization in treating Neuromuscular disease, to be appointed as a Clinical, Research or Tenure Track faculty member at any rank. Successful candidates will also be in involved in a full range of educational and mentoring activities for students, residents, and fellows through educational programs of the division.

Clinical activities will include providing tertiary level services in a busy MDA clinic, CMT clinic, and an MDA/ALS multidisciplinary clinic. The division currently has four other Neuromuscular Neurologists on staff, two Neurogenetic Counselors, two dedicated RNs, and one Medical Assistant. The department has highly respected EMG and neuropathology services and is highly collaborative with the Pediatric Neuromuscular Division.

All Neurologists who are members of the faculty group share weekday, weekend and holiday coverage of the inpatient and consult services. We will work closely with the candidate to optimize his/her time to work in any preferred area of interest.  The overall philosophy of this neurology department is the provision of comprehensive patient-centered care in our inpatient and outpatient settings and in a variety of unique subspecialty practice settings within our healthcare system.

The Department of Neurology is made up of more than 40 full-time faculty members who provide local, national and international leadership across a range of neurology areas, including Cognitive Neurology, Cerebrovascular Disease, Clinical Electrophysiology, Epilepsy, Movement Disorders, Neuroimmunology/MS, Neuromuscular Disease, Neuropsychology, and Sleep Disorders. • MD or DO degrees and eligible for an unrestricted Iowa medical license.
