Logistics Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the shipment and delivery of goods and warehouse personnel. The ideal candidate must be knowledgeable with customer portals and the ASN process. They will also ensure received items are handled efficiently. The candidate will work in a warehouse setting.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate the organization, staffing, and operational activities for all Material Handlers
• Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities of the department
• Direct and review work plan for assigned staff
• Implement appropriate safety guidelines and investigate injuries or unsafe conditions
• Monitor storeroom and warehouse material usage
• Aid in warehouse space utilization by designing facility layouts to achieve maximum storage efficiency
• Develop delivery schedules and drop shipment strategies
• Maintain accurate records and files of inventory usage
• Meet with staff to identify and resolve problems
• Ensure the shipping and receiving areas are cleaned and organized
• Coordinate warehousing and storeroom activities with other departments in the organization
• Assist the Materials Planner with wall-to-wall inventory
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• 5 years in a logistics leadership role
• Scanning and sorting incoming and outgoing stock
• Receiving, stocking, and stacking as well as pulling, packing, and loading
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong sense of time organization and urgency
• Able to work independently and within a team
• Experience with SAP preferred

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Supply Chain preferred
• Forklift Certification within 30 days of job entry date
• Familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) equipment is preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Prolonged periods of walking, bending, or driving forklift for movement of goods
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
