Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Data Engineer with strong GCP experience to join our retail client, The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines and analytics solutions within the **Google Cloud Platform ecosystem**. You will work closely with data architects, analysts, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure high-quality data delivery for business intelligence and advanced analytics.
Essentially looking for a blend of cloud infrastructure knowledge , data engineering tools & frameworks , and problem-solving skills relevant to data pipelines, ETL, and analytics on GCP.
Required Skills & Experience:
* 8+ years of experience*in Data Engineering roles.
* 5+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)and its services: BigQuery , Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, etc.
* Strong proficiency in SQL and Python (for data manipulation and pipeline orchestration).
* Experience with data modeling, warehousing concepts, and building ETL/ELT processes.
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices.
* Strong understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance standards.
* Experience working with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in a retail industry environment is highly preferred.
* Familiarity with Apache Beam, Airflow, or similar orchestration tools.
* Knowledge of real-time streaming data pipelines using Kafka or Pub/Sub.
* Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification is a plus.
