Job Description

Job Title: Payroll Administrator

Location: St. Paul, MN – this is a hybrid role requiring weekly onsite presence in Inver Grove Heights.

Only local applicants in Minnesota will be eligible for consideration.

Pay Rate:  $30.00 - $35.00 / Hourly dependent on applicable experience

We’re supporting the search for a Payroll Administrator to join a mission-driven organization in St. Paul. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys keeping things organized behind the scenes while making sure every payroll run is accurate, compliant, and on time.

In this role, you’ll handle all aspects of payroll processing, from data entry to reconciliations and reporting, while working closely with HR and accounting teams. The ideal person will be someone who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys problem-solving, and can balance the details of compliance with the people side of payroll.

This position is best suited for someone with hands-on experience in multi-state payroll and a working knowledge of Workday or UKG systems, who wants to grow in a collaborative and people-first environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Process biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple states
  • Audit timecards, deductions, and adjustments for accuracy and compliance
  • Manage new hires, terminations, and pay changes within the payroll system
  • Maintain employee payroll records and tax documentation
  • Handle garnishments, direct deposits, and payroll tax filings
  • Collaborate with HR and Accounting on reporting and payroll-related projects
  • Assist with year-end W-2 preparation and reconciliation

What we’re looking for:

  • 2–4+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-state environment
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance and tax regulations
  • Experience with Workday, UKG, or similar payroll systems strongly preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and customer service mindset
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with HRIS integrations
