Job Description

Responsible for estimating costs, resources, and labor needed to complete roofing and/or solar installation projects. This role involves conducting research, gathering quotations, assembling project budgets, and preparing client proposals to secure new business. Additionally, the position includes maintaining customer relationships and supporting projects awarded from submitted proposals.

Key Areas of Responsibility

1. Customer Service : Serve as the point of contact for customers as required.
2. Project Estimates and Proposals : Prepare accurate estimates and submit detailed bid proposals.
3. Communication : Act as a liaison between the project management team and customers as needed.
4. Accountability : Ensure profitability for awarded projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Project Budget Estimates and Proposals

• Communicate with stakeholders to determine project requirements and objectives.
• Provide expertise in roofing systems and installation specifications.
• Follow established standard operating procedures and guidelines for estimating.
• Research material and equipment costs required for roofing and/or solar projects.
• Calculate labor requirements and related costs.
• Organize collected project data and prepare professionally written proposals.
• Submit proposals to the Sales Manager or directly to customers as directed, ensuring proposals are delivered on time.
• Upload bid sheets, proposals, and any take-offs into the designated system.
• Submit all proposal support documentation (bid sheets, take-offs, notes, pictures) to the Sales Manager to ensure a complete package is available for project award.

1. Customer Relationship Management

• Maintain connections by researching and following up on potential new business opportunities.
• Engage in verbal and written correspondence to assist with follow-up on submitted proposals.
• Ensure a smooth handoff of projects to the project management team.

1. Project Management Support

• Collaborate with the project management team to verify customer expectations.
• Support production managers in customer communications, especially when the estimator is not acting as the production manager for a project.
