Looking to earn some extra cash around the holidays? Join us as a Yard Jockey in New Market, VA. This temporary assignment is a great way to pick up steady hours and extra income during a busy time of year. You’ll be responsible for safely moving trailers around the yard, backing them into dock doors, and ensuring all outbound trailers are weighed and documented.

Yard Jockey Schedule:

• October 31 – November 22: 6:00 AM – until production ends

• November 23 – January 2: 3:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Pay: $21 per hour

What You’ll Do

• Move and spot trailers to and from dock doors and yard locations safely and efficiently
• Back trailers into shipping and receiving doors as directed by warehouse staff
• Weigh outbound trailers and record documentation accurately
• Perform pre- and post-shift inspections on yard tractor, reporting any issues
• Communicate with shipping, receiving, and dispatch teams to coordinate movement
• Keep the yard clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
• Complete shift logs and paperwork as required

What We’re Looking For

• Valid CDL license required
• Previous yard jockey/hostler experience preferred (but not required if you’re confident in your skills)
• Strong ability to safely maneuver trailers into tight dock positions
• Reliable and able to work the full scheduled dates
• Safety-conscious with good attention to detail
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
