About Castelion

Castelion is bringing a new approach to defense development and production: one that focuses on short, iterative design cycles, rapid testing in development, and modern commercial manufacturing strategies for production at scale. We’re designing, building, and testing next generation long range strike weapons systems to give America and its Allies a definitive edge and deter future conflicts.

Warehouse Operations Manager

The Warehouse Operations Manager will oversee and optimize the inventory management, receiving processes, and material handling operations within Castelion’s warehouses and production lines. This role is critical to ensuring inventory accuracy, timely receipt of materials, efficient storage, and effective movement of goods through the company. The manager will create and lead a team responsible for these operations and collaborate with cross-functional departments to maintain seamless and cost-effective supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory control, logistics, and warehouse management with the ability to drive improvements and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. We seek intelligent, collaborative, and driven leaders who are passionate about problem-solving and eager to lay the groundwork for a team to contribute to an extraordinary mission. If you thrive in challenging environments and are excited by the prospect of making a tangible impact, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Oversee the management of inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock counts, proper stock rotation, and timely replenishment. Implement cycle counts, annual audits, and inventory reconciliation procedures to maintain optimal inventory accuracy.
  • Receiving Operations: Supervise the receiving process, ensuring timely and accurate unloading, inspection, and proper documentation of incoming shipments. Work closely with procurement and quality teams to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Material Handling: Lead the movement of inbound and outbound materials and material movement around the warehouse, ensuring items are properly stored, organized, and readily accessible for order fulfillment. Optimize the layout and storage strategies to improve efficiency and reduce handling time.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, train, and develop a team of inventory, receiving, and material handling associates. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and high performance within the team.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve inventory and material handling processes to reduce costs, minimize errors, and increase productivity. Implement best practices and industry standards to streamline operations.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Coordinate with procurement, production, and shipping departments to ensure that materials are available when needed and inventory levels align with production schedules and customer demands.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce adherence to all safety regulations and best practices, ensuring the safe operation of equipment and the handling of materials. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in all areas of inventory management and material handling.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Generate and review key performance metrics (KPIs) related to inventory accuracy, receiving efficiency, and material handling productivity. Provide regular reports and actionable insights to senior management for decision-making.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve issues related to inventory discrepancies, receiving errors, or material handling inefficiencies in a timely manner.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 5 years of experience in inventory management, receiving, material handling, or warehouse operations, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS) and ERP software.
  • Valid OSHA Forklift Certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and best practices in warehouse safety.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • This role requires broad mechanical domain knowledge, including machined parts, composites, chemicals, avionics and their associated manufacturers and manufacturing methods.
  • Innovative problem-solving approach using critical thinking, including utilization of learnings from an American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification, Six Sigma certification, or similar certifications and data analysis using Excel, SQL, or an advanced analytics software.
