Warehouse Manager

Ashland, VA

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Manager to lead our distribution center in Ashland, VA. This critical role will report to our Director of Operations and help oversee all warehouse functions, ensuring efficient and accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of our products. This position will manage both day and night shift operations.

Compensation & Benefits:

• $100,000 - $110,000 annually
• 10% annual bonus

Hours:

• Monday through Friday Day shift - Initially, this position will require working some night shift to understand, assess and facilitate a smooth transition to the day shift operation. The Warehouse Manager will develop and implement processes to ensure a seamless and efficient shift change, with the expectation of transitioning to a standard day shift role.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Leadership & Management: Provide strong leadership and management in all aspects of product receipt and distribution.
• Process Improvement: Develop site-specific facility processes and metrics to enhance current operations.
• Inbound Logistics: Schedule and receive all inbound product accurately and on time, adhering to company SOPs.
• Inventory Management: Ensure accurate placement of all inbound product and conduct regular cycle counts.
• Warehouse Optimization: Optimize product and warehouse layout to support capacity requirements and maximize throughput.
• Safety & Compliance: Conduct monthly safety meetings and maintain a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with all regulations and company policies. Provide forklift training and safety meetings as needed.
• Budget Management: Collaborate with the Director of Operations to develop the annual operating budget, manage expenses, and review financial reports.
• Equipment Maintenance: Properly maintain all material handling equipment, including forklifts, stock-pickers, and pallet jacks.
• Performance Management: Work with HR and management on employee performance issues and complete employee reviews.
• Administrative Tasks: Complete all necessary administrative tasks accurately and on time.

What You Bring:

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field, or a High School Diploma with at least 5 years of experience in Distribution Operations.
• Management Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising/managing a warehouse team.
• Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word…experience with Korber, Manhattan, or HighJump WMS is a plus!
• Equipment Proficiency: Experience using RF scanners, conveyors, and voice pick equipment.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Certifications: Certified MHE trainer preferred.
• Physical Abilities: Ability to operate MHE, including sit-down and stand-up forklifts, stock-pickers, and electric pallet jacks.
