Job Title: Vice President of Distribution

Reports to: Executive Vice President Manufacturing and Distribution

Location: Starkville, Mississippi

Job Type: Full-Time, Executive Level

Position Summary:

The Vice President of Distribution is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational oversight of the distribution network currently consisting of 3 Company DCs, one each, located in Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi, along with a 3PL facility in Georgia. This role ensures the safe, efficient, cost-effective, and customer-focused movement of goods from U. S. ports to the DCs where the goods are picked up by customer-directed transporters and a growing emphasis on DTC, e-comm, and omnichannel distribution strategies. The VP will drive initiatives in warehouse operations innovations and supply chain integration to support business growth and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute distribution strategies aligned with Company goals to optimize service levels and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment compliant with legal requirements, internal policies and procedures, and assures employees have open door and open shop communication avenues.
  • Drive efficiency through technology innovation such as enhanced data analytics and automation.
  • Oversee all distribution operations including warehousing, inventory management, and order fulfillment, including compliance with customer shipping requirements to avoid chargebacks.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of distribution professionals across multiple locations.
  • Collaborate with procurement, sales, operations, and customer service to ensure seamless end-to-end supply chain execution.
  • Manage relationships with appropriate peer personnel at the customers and third-party providers.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing costs, increasing accuracy, and improving delivery times.
  • Participate in strategic planning and budgeting processes; manage department budget and capital expenditures.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in distribution or supply chain management, including a minimum of 5 years of senior management responsibility for 3+ sites, P&L responsibility.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (can be offset by greater years of senior management experience).
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), experience with AI or automation applications in the distribution environment, and ERP platforms.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive organizational change.
  • Capable of driving/traveling to DCs on a regular, frequent basis

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce fulfillment or omnichannel distribution strategies.
