Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Commercial Truck Driver to safely transport and deliver freight using a Class-8 tractor and trailer combination. The ideal candidate will ensure proper loading, unloading, and adherence to all safety and regulatory requirements while maintaining a positive and professional image of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inspect truck and trailer for defects and ensure safe operating conditions before, during, and after trips.
• Ensure freight is properly loaded and check for hazardous materials.
• Drive long distances according to FMCSR guidelines.
• Safely operate the vehicle in varying weather and traffic conditions.
• Maintain accurate shipping documents and ensure timely delivery.
• Handle and report delays, accidents, and emergencies promptly.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company safety regulations.
Qualifications:
• Valid Class-A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Minimum 21 years of age.
• No more than 1 preventable accident in the last 3 years.
• Must have clean driving and criminal records as per company guidelines.
• Must be able to pass DOT medical and drug tests.
• Ability to read, write, and perform simple math.
• Ability to operate and utilize onboard communication devices.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to drive for long periods (up to 11 hours).
• Ability to lift, bend, and handle freight as needed.
• Ability to climb in and out of truck and trailer multiple times per day.
Work Environment:
• Exposure to various weather conditions and driving environments.
• Irregular hours and long trips may be required."
