Responsible for performing work related to the construction and maintain of poles, power lines, auxiliary facilities, and equipment for the Transmission team. This position supports and learns from the Lineman team and works with other personnel from the department. Responsibilities + Transmission structure replacements, wire pulling, new line builds. + Perform construction, maintenance, or repair work of Transmission lines. + Install and maintain wood poles and steel towers of all heights, including setting, framing, and installing hardware, and other related materials. + Operate and maintain vehicles and specialized equipment used in the electric utility industry. + Safely identify primary and secondary voltage on a circuit and have familiarity with induced voltage. Qualifications + Knowledge in grounding, dead ending and how to properly sag wire. + Proficient in climbing different types of structures (wood, steel, poles, towers, etc.). + Availability to work 50+ hours per week. + Up to 100% travel required. + Valid and current state Driver's License. + Must be willing to travel with the crews in Texas and Florida. + Ability to work 7 days per week. **Preferred Qualifications** + Valid and current Class A CDL. + Leadership Training. + Completion of Lineman School. + Completion of Apprenticeship Program. **Physical Demands and Work Environment** This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships. Precise hand-eye coordination.
