Traffic Operations Manager
Salary Range: $60,355 - $74,000 DOQ

Under limited supervision, this position manages the Traffic operations within the Public Works Department. Duties include budget preparation and the general management of operations, daily activities and schedules, maintenance, and repair of municipal traffic signals and signs, pavement marking, roadway lighting, and guardrail assets. Assists with reviews and maintains traffic plans, capital improvement plans, and manages locally administered state and federal traffic projects and local traffic control device construction. May perform field work related to traffic, traffic studies; collects and analyzes data; develops field training exercises, acts as technical leadership and expertise to subordinate staff; responds to requests for service and resolves complaints from residents, elected officials, senior staff, and other internal and external customers.

May assist with or perform complex fabrications, installations and maintenance for traffic control sign related apparatus and supporting equipment.  Works independently, receiving general supervision from supervisor.  This position is essential.  Personnel occupying this position may be scheduled to work regardless of weather conditions and/or when general City offices are closed.

International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Tech 3 certification and IMSA Signs/Pavement Markings cert preferred.  Advanced Work Zone Traffic Control Certification required.  CDL class B driver’s license or ability to obtain within 12 months required.
