About the Role

Martin & Zerfoss, Inc. is seeking a Support Services Specialist for a full-time role in Nashville, TN. The position has a hybrid work arrangement, with 4 days in-office and 1 day WFH after the initial in-person training period. In this role, the Support Services Specialist will:

  • Provide administrative support to the Front Desk, Claims, and Accounting teams.
  • Back up the receptionist by answering phones and covering the front desk as needed. (Generally 1 hour per day and periodically for vacation.)
  • Assist the Claims department by: answering calls regarding insurance claims; filing claims; communicating with clients, insurance carriers, adjusters and internal team members regarding the status of claims; utilizing software to track and manage the claims process.
  • Assist the Accounting department by: performing data entry for accounts payable, totaling, verifying and posting financial information; researching, tracking and resolving accounts payable issues; assisting in maintaining internal controls and procedures for the accounts payable process to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Utilize Applied Epic to manage and track all work.
  • Follow agency and department workflows and procedures to complete daily tasks.
  • Manage the workload effectively.
  • Seek opportunities to learn and grow in the insurance field.
  • Support the Agency with various administrative tasks and projects.
  • Regular and timely attendance in the office is an essential function of the job.

About you

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree desired, but not required.
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Experience working in a professional office setting.
  • Experience with Accounts Payable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Experience using CRMs/databases to organize and track work is preferred.
  • Insurance claims knowledge a plus, but not required.
  • Able to reliably commute to our West Nashville office four days a week after the initial training period.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Exemplary organization, time management and prioritization skills
  • High degree of professionalism along with excellent business writing and communication skills.
  • Must possess ability to handle confidential information in an appropriate and professional manner.
  • Team player that contributes to a positive work culture

Perks

Salary range between $48,000 - $60,000/ year commensurate with experience
