SSD/HDD Validation Engineer

Short-term Contract with Microsoft

This position is for direct W2 hires only. We are not accepting C2C or third-party candidates.

Location:

This is an on-site role at one of two Microsoft campuses:

• San Diego, CA (92121)
• Aliso Viejo, CA (92656)

Contract Duration:

Short-term contract until the end of June, with the possibility of extension.

Compensation

• Salary: $104,000 – $124,800 plus benefits.

Requirements

• Understanding of the storage protocols (NVMe, SAS, SATA)
• Experience with SSD/HDD validation, performance testing, and white-box testing
• Understand the specs, develop test procedures, and execute them
• Debugging skills; familiar with PCIe analyzers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
• Familiar with Azure DevOps
• Familiar with SSD/HDD test suites like ULink DriveMaster
• Experience with storage validation tools (e.g., FIO, MLTT, etc.)
• Scripting experience in Python
• Power performance measurement for trace collection and root cause analysis (RCA)
• HDD or SSD validation

A Plus

• Knowledge on how to use an OakGate or SANBlaze test appliance
• In-depth experience with HBAs
