Description

The Sr. Technical Producer - Creative Technology will lead the planning and execution of complex hardware and electromechanical systems integrations. With 5+ years in technical project management, preferably in creative technology, the ideal candidate will have expertise in mechanical design, CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion), and rapid prototyping technologies such as 3D Printing and CNC machining. The role requires managing cross-functional teams, overseeing installations, and ensuring on-time, high-quality delivery. Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills are essential. Experience in creative agencies or media production, as well as familiarity with budgets, vendor relationships, and electrical engineering principles, is a plus.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Strategy:

  • Spearhead the strategic planning and implementation of hardware and electromechanical systems integration, setting best practices and ensuring projects meet quality standards and objectives.
  • Actively contribute to the Creative Technology team and partner with the broader VTProDesign team to plan and execute technology integration for both immediate and future projects.
  • Support department leadership in defining and communicating the strategic integration of technology within project proposals and execution plans.
  • Work closely with Creative, Production, and Fabrication teams to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to exceptional standards.

Team Guidance & Development:

  • Direct the creation and integration of robust systems, overseeing component selection, fabrication methodologies, and the development of thorough documentation.
  • Lead and mentor the team in the design, testing, modification, fabrication, and assembly of hardware and electromechanical systems based on specific project needs.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the Creative Technology group.
  • Manage project resources effectively to achieve project timelines and goals.

Onsite Execution & Support:

  • Take ownership of on-site installations, providing leadership and actively participating in troubleshooting electromechanical and software-related technical challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Creative, Fabrication, and external vendor teams to guarantee smooth and efficient project deployments.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:

  • Coordinate with internal teams (engineers, programmers, fabricators) and external partners (vendors) to drive the execution strategy for Creative Technology and hardware systems.
  • Partner with clients to thoroughly understand their creative vision and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate on the design and review of technical documentation, including electrical layouts, mechanical drawings, and site plans, contributing valuable insights during technical and design reviews.

Technical Oversight & Innovation:

  • Direct and support the assembly of electromechanical systems, ranging from simple setups to highly complex integrated solutions.
  • Contribute to the research, development, and implementation of new tools, processes, and cutting-edge technologies within the Creative Technology landscape.
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of both existing and future long-term technology installations.

Operational Support:

  • Assist in the planning, organization, and maintenance of the Creative Technology workspace and resources.
  • Take on additional responsibilities within Creative Technology as required to support team and project needs.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in technical project management, preferably within a creative technology or related field.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental mechanical principles and design concepts.
  • Demonstrated experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360) for design and review.
  • Proven experience with various fabrication and assembly techniques and industry best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping technologies such as 3D Printing, Laser Cutting, and CNC machining.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to lead independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in creative agencies, production studios, or technology-driven environments.
  • Background in creative technology, design, or media production.
  • Experience managing budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering principles and practices.
