Senior Migration Lead – Santa Monica/LA/Seattle/NYC - W2 Only!

Optomi, in partnership with a market leader in the entertainment industry, is seeking a Senior Migration Lead for a position out of their one of their hub locations in Santa Monica/LA, Seattle, or New York City. This candidate will play a critical leadership function in ensuring the seamless transition of bots and workflows from Slack to Microsoft Teams. This role requires a deep understanding of both the technical and product aspects of Teams development, with a particular focus on Azure, Power Automate, and Microsoft Entra. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert (SME) capable of leading through technical challenges, providing hands on support, and facilitating smooth transitions in a large-scale enterprise environment.

Experience of the right candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Extensive experience with hands-on migrations of bots and workflows from Slack to Microsoft Teams.
  • Expertise in Teams development, Power Automate, and Azure.
  • In-depth understanding of Azure, Microsoft Entra functional accounts, and Microsoft Graph API permissions.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with both engineering teams and business stakeholders, offering clear explanations of complex technical concepts.
  • Leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and drive technical discussions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in the areas of security, authentication, and complex integrations.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and navigate complex, multi-faceted environments with minimal supervision.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a focus on driving results and achieving project goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with incident management bots and other critical integrations within enterprise environments.
  • Knowledge of Power Automate and other automation tools, particularly in the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with large-scale enterprise migrations and managing migrations at scale.

Responsibilities of the right candidate:

  • Lead the migration of bots and workflows from Slack to Teams, ensuring that all integrations are successfully transitioned while minimizing disruptions.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all aspects of the migration, particularly for complex workflows, incident management bots, and custom in-house deployments of HR data.
  • Collaborate with program management and engineering teams, providing guidance and support to resolve technical issues, particularly related to security provisions, authentication, and integration.
  • Drive the resolution of security-related issues and approvals, ensuring compliance and smooth transitions.
  • Engage with the engineering and business teams, bridging gaps in understanding and providing clear explanations of complex technical concepts.
  • Advise on and troubleshoot integrations involving Azure, Microsoft Entra functional accounts, and Microsoft Graph API permissions.
  • Offer hands-on support, ensuring that engineering teams are equipped with the knowledge they need to continue the migration effectively.
  • Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to engineers and other team members, facilitating communication and driving efficiency in the migration process.
