Job Description

A school in the Bronx is currently seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join their team.

• Start Date: ASAP
• Assignment Length: Ongoing (Contract to Hire)
• Schedule: 2 days per week
• Hours: 8am to 3pm
• Patient Population: Students (Ages 2 to 8)

Responsibilities:

• Provide students with speech therapy sessions in accordance with the IEP mandate
• Implement treatment plan as part of therapeutic intervention in the area of speech and language development
• Utilize standardized tests as well as clinical observations to assess students' progress toward meeting the IEP goals and prepare written quarterly and annual reports
• Collaborate with other Clinicians and the Teaching team to ensure efficient targeting students' IEP goals
• Attend and complete required school meetings, training, and professional development
• Communicate with parents to establish and support the efficient collaboration
• Assess students' strengths and deficits and prepare written quarterly, Turning 5, and annual reports
• Perform initial preschool language skill screening
• Provide consultation to classroom staff in the area of speech and language

Qualifications:

• NYS Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license
• Experience with language-impaired children

Desired Skills:

• Experience working with Special Needs students
• Experience working within a School
• Bilingual (English and Spanish)
