Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Senior Pricing Actuary to join our client's growing actuarial team, with a primary focus on retail annuity pricing, rate setting, and new product development. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in the annuity space, solid understanding of insurance and reinsurance markets, and strong experience in supporting cross-functional initiatives including reinsurance structuring and M&A activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Retail Annuity Pricing & Rate Setting:

• Develop and maintain pricing models for fixed and fixed indexed annuity products.
• Lead retail rate setting efforts aligned with company risk appetite and market competitiveness.
• Perform experience studies and ensure assumption governance in support of pricing decisions.

New Product Development:

• Partner with Product, Risk, and Distribution teams to design, price, and launch innovative annuity products.
• Evaluate and model product features to meet profitability, regulatory, and capital efficiency goals.
• Support regulatory and filing documentation as required.

Reinsurance Support:

• Structure and evaluate reinsurance solutions to enhance pricing and risk-sharing strategies.
• Collaborate with internal reinsurance teams and external partners to implement treaties.

M&A and Strategic Initiatives:

• Provide actuarial support on M&A transactions, including pricing and valuation analysis.
• Conduct due diligence on both insurance and reinsurance portfolios as needed.

Ad-hoc Analysis & Reporting:

• Deliver timely, high-quality analysis and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Support broader actuarial initiatives, including reserve reviews, capital modeling, and profitability assessments.

Qualifications:

• FSA or ASA designation required (FSA preferred).
• 8–10 years of actuarial experience, with a strong focus on annuity pricing and/or product development.
• Deep knowledge of retail annuity products, including fixed and fixed indexed annuities.
• Experience in reinsurance pricing, structuring, and implementation is strongly preferred.
• Exposure to M&A or transaction support in an actuarial context is a plus.
• Proficient in actuarial modeling tools (e.g., AXIS, ALFA, Prophet) and advanced Excel.
• Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
