Responsibilities

• Support the Power Plant Engineering staff for design and drafting for new equipment and or additions to existing facilities.
• Perform design work for the development and modification of company equipment and facilities.
• Evaluate, Design, Specify, draft and order equipment/systems used in the plant, in any of the subsystems such as Control Systems, Piping Layout, Structural modifications, or instrumentation.
• Gather field information to properly layout equipment design.
• Obtain necessary drawings and other documentation for the design.
• Work with others in using and development of plant standards or procedures.
• Maintain and update existing drawings as new equipment is installed or exiting equipment is modified.
• The typical responsibilities described herein represent a major portion of the job. Other similar duties may be assigned. When management determines it is efficient to do so this employee may be assigned duties of less complexity.

Requirements

• Associate of Science degree in Science and Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience resulting in proven ability to perform the duties of the job.
• Four years experience in an industrial plant as a designer.
• Working drawings & file systems management.
• Applicable experience or familiarity with AutoCAD 2020, AutoCAD Raster Design 2020.
• Design knowledge and understanding of P&ID's.
• A demonstrated ability using oral and written communication skills in a technical environment.
• Ability to be a team player and a team leader when necessary.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and eagerly take on responsibility

Well-developed computer skills in AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, etc
