Job Summary

Kreider Farms is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team. This role is critical in supporting the financial integrity of the organization by ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, performing account reconciliations, and participating in the month-end close process. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, analytical skills, and a collaborative mindset to support both routine operations and strategic financial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions (cash, fixed assets, etc.) in the ERP system to ensure accurate and timely journal entries.
• Collaborate with the Accounting team on the month-end close process, focusing on journal entries related to general accounting.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations for various general ledger accounts.
• Maintain accurate sub-ledgers (cash, fixed assets, etc.) in collaboration with internal departments to support general ledger balances.
• Create and maintain financial analyses and reporting tools to support internal stakeholders.
• Develop and update documentation for accounting procedures, policies, and internal controls.
• Assist management with tracking and completing regulatory filings and reporting requirements.
• Serve as the primary backup for the Director of Financial Reporting and Analysis.
• Support the evaluation, implementation, and configuration of ERP modules related to key accounting areas (Cash, Fixed Assets, Sales Deductions, etc.).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other applicable accounting standards.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage, or QuickBooks Enterprise).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).

Preferred (not required):

• Industry experience in agriculture, poultry, dairy, or manufacturing.
• Familiarity with multiple general accounting areas (e.g., AP, AR, GL, Fixed Assets).
