Responsibilities:

• Develop streamlined automated conveyance and storage solutions to maximize value.
• Create simulations and offline programs using Roboguide and Process Simulate.
• Improve labor efficiency and optimize space utilization.
• Design end-of-arm tools for robots to enhance reliability and reduce waste.
• Design safety concepts for robot cells and specify necessary equipment.
• Lead the design phase, manage suppliers, and specify equipment.
• Implement robotic cells for material flow and design/select robotic systems.
• Advance robot programming (DCS, iRVision) and develop custom application code.
• Manage internal and contractor projects, ensuring proper documentation.
• Collaborate with third parties to develop analytical models.
• Provide cost estimates, budget requests, and technical project management.
• Oversee on-site activities and validate equipment and systems.
• Support troubleshooting and ensure smooth handoff to operations.
• Communicate and collaborate with vendors and internal teams.

Required Skills and Experience:

• BS in Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3-5+ years of extensive experience in robotic programming and applications.
• Excellent high-level and background programming skills on Fanuc (preferred), Yaskawa, KUKA, or equivalent brands.
• Hands-on experience commissioning and programming industrial robots.
• Strong robotic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with robot simulation packages and offline programming using Roboguide or Process Simulate.
• Virtual commissioning experience of a robotics system is a plus.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, C, C++, HTML, and ROS.
• Experience in material handling or automotive industries is a plus.
• Good overall people management skills.
• Proficient in CAD, with SolidWorks preferred.
• PLC programming knowledge is a plus.
• Passion for working on mechanical automation equipment, robots, and the design of electromechanical systems, PLCs, motion controls, and navigation systems.
• Ability to lead a project from concept through detailed design to implementation and handover while working in a close-knit, team environment.
• Understanding of the integration of equipment design into existing or new systems.
• Knowledge of moving mechanism and machine design, component part design, and machined part processes.

On-Site in Austin, Texas

6-Month Contract-to-Hire

Rate: $65-90/hour, depending on years of experience / skillset
