Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Michelin rated restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. As a Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that our restaurant runs smoothly, efficiently, and profitably while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.

The manager would compliment the Lead Chef & BOH team while manging FOH and other overall operational responsibilities .

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of restaurant operations, including inventory control, budgeting, and staff management.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Train, mentor, and develop staff to provide excellent customer service and uphold restaurant standards for wine, sake, food pairings, steps of service, and upselling techniques.
  • Oversee food service operations, including menu planning, preparation, and presentation adhering to Michelin Bib Gourmand standards.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain & develop social media presence.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service during peak hours.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to improve profitability with daily, weekly & monthly communication with the owner.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality ingredients are sourced at competitive prices.
  • Updating and printing menus, creating tech sheets, and distributing important service info.
  • Leading staff hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations with a strong eye for character and fit.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked environment, including restrooms and all front and back-of-house areas.
  • Rolling up your sleeves to wash dishes, bus tables, make drinks, clean spills, and assist wherever help is needed. No task is too small.
  • Mastering Reservation systems like OpenTable and effectively "playing Tetris" with reservations, walk-ins, and large parties to maximize the guest experience.
  • Handling bank runs, tip distribution, balancing the safe, and overall money management.
  • Troubleshooting everyday issues like POS problems, printer disconnects, speaker hiccups, internet outages, and equipment malfunctions—and knowing who to call when it's bigger than a reboot.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of inventory control processes and techniques.
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial management within a restaurant setting.
  • In-depth understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
  • Experience in staff training and development, fostering a positive team environment. Familiarity with HR procedures, hiring/firing, onboarding, and basic labor laws.
  • Bilingual - English & Spanish speakers will be preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Background in food service operations, including cooking or bartending experience is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. A natural leader who is calm under pressure, solutions-focused, and able to keep a cool head in emergencies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Tech-savvy and resourceful—able to troubleshoot POS, internet, AV equipment, and other systems.
  • Hands-on experience in bartending or cooking is a big plus.
  • Someone who recognizes and values regulars, remembers names, and builds rapport naturally.
  • Flexible, fast on their feet, and always ready to jump in—whether it's managing a reservation rush or mopping up a spill.
