If you’re enthusiastic and motivated with a friendly demeanor and have the ability to work well in a team environment, you’ll fit right into this host/hostess role! Excellent communication skills and a warm, courteous manner are needed for speaking with guests, answering phone inquiries, and making accurate reservations. One of your key duties will be to meet and greet guests warmly as they enter the restaurant and walk them to their seats. • Clean up and clear plates after guests leave, and get the table ready for the next customers
• Make reservations, plan out the seating chart, and troubleshoot customer phone inquiries
• Direct customers to their seats, ensuring tables are set properly with enough tableware for each diner, water glasses are filled, and menus are sanitized
• Make sure dining room tables and chairs are neatly organized at all times and that condiments on the table are restocked if low
• Learn the menu, including the daily specials and accurately describe how dishes are prepared

Qualifications:

• Thrive in a fast-moving environment while working in a team situation with extended hours of standing to be expected
• For this position, a high school diploma or the equivalent GED is needed, as well as a good understanding of how to speak and read English
• Some restaurant, hospitality, and/or food services industry experience is preferred
• Skills needed for this role include excellent people skills, time management, organization skills, and the ability to handle customer requests and situations quickly with a pleasant demeanor
