As a R&D & Distillation Analyst you will:

• Provide analytic support to the quality and product development work of peel oils, fruit aromas, essences, and flavors; and run the R&D analytic work
• Supervises the work of the pilot distillation lab
• Provides input to production and directly supports upscaling processes

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish sound analytic methods for sensory, physicochemical and instrumental analysis
• Generate reports for pre-shipment samples, type samples and incoming materials (100% controlled)
• Ensure that results are accurate and delivered in a timely fashion according to previously agreed SLAs
• Maintain lab equipment and supplies in good order
• Help production in maintain best practices and be a support for food safety and process sound and safe practices

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Undergraduate in chemistry, biology, pharmacy; or equivalent work experience
• Instrumental analysis (gas chromatography)
• Experience of 2 years’ experience in lab environment
• Food industry is an advantage
• Fluent English, advantage to additional languages such as Portuguese/Spanish
• Background in Citrus, preferably from a school with agricultural and food science programs into Citrus.
• Dangerous Goods Training is a plus
