Project Executive

San Francisco Bay Area

  • Salary: $150K–$200K (Exempt)

A Project Executive leads, coordinates, and manages all aspects of work on multiple construction projects—engaging with company executives, project teams, key clients, as well as design teams, consultants, and trade partners to ensure effective project reporting and execution. They play a key role in identifying, pursuing, attaining, and negotiating favorable terms for new work, collaborating with the development, estimating, and preconstruction teams. Project Executives lead efforts to develop high-performance teams through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring. They are also engaged in achieving companywide initiatives and are active ambassadors of the organization's culture, vision, and mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate new leads that result in new projects and revenue growth
  • Lead or contribute significantly to business acquisition efforts
  • Maintain active involvement in external industry groups
  • Develop strategies or negotiate recovery plans to avoid fee erosion in the event of forecasted cost overruns
  • Stay current with industry market trends, supply chain challenges, and material/equipment escalation
  • Participate in contract term negotiations and incentives to enhance company fees
  • Leverage trade partner relationships to maximize project opportunities
  • Identify and secure new project opportunities using internal pursuit strategies
  • Oversee and improve the effectiveness of the bid process and preconstruction efforts
  • Demonstrate strong skills in conceptual estimation and unit cost development
  • Negotiate favorable contract terms with general contractors and subcontractors
  • Guide project teams on buy-out strategy and subcontractor selection
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and develop strategies to maximize profitability
  • Serve as a resource to project teams on project execution, cost and schedule management, quality control, risk mitigation, and project closeout
  • Conduct regular audits to monitor team performance and project health
  • Promote efficient use of resources and support communication with general contractors
  • Ensure thorough and timely project closeout
  • Maintain strong, long-term client relationships and ensure high client satisfaction
  • Lead staff development efforts and promote career growth
  • Promote and enforce company policies, culture, safety standards, and professional ethics
  • Foster internal communication of key initiatives and culture
  • Support and lead the implementation of safety policies and practices
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with all project stakeholders

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Preferred 14+ years in construction with a strong background in HVAC and plumbing
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Industry certifications/accreditation, including OSHA 10
  • Proven track record of managing profitable large and small projects
  • Ability to recruit, lead, and develop high-performing teams
  • Experience implementing strategic initiatives across projects or departments
  • Well-developed network of industry and client contacts and a successful business development history
  • Project portfolio that includes various building types, delivery methods, and key clients
  • In-depth understanding of the preconstruction process
  • Strong knowledge of contract risks and mitigation strategies
