As a Restaurant Prep Cook for Local Kitchens, you will play a vital role in the culinary operations of our restaurant by ensuring that all ingredients are prepared, organized, and ready for use on the kitchen line. Your role is crucial in ensuring that all dishes are prepared accurately and efficiently according to the recipes and standards set by Local Kitchens. You will work closely with the kitchen team to guarantee the efficient flow of food preparation, contributing to the overall quality and success of our menu offerings.

Key Role Responsibilities:
Preparation & Recipe Adherence: Receive, inspect, and organize all incoming ingredients. Wash, peel, chop, dice, and slice various ingredients according to recipes and kitchen standards. Prepare/cook ingredients such as vegetables, meats, and sauces according to recipes and portion sizes specified by the recipe tools and kitchen supervisor.
Kitchen Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep area, including equipment, utensils, and workstations. Properly label and store prepared ingredients to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
Stock Maintenance: Assist in maintaining sufficient levels of food stock and supplies by monitoring inventory and notifying the kitchen manager of any shortages.
Sanitation & Cleanliness: Adhere to proper food safety and sanitation guidelines, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, and utensils to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
Collaboration & Communication: Work effectively with all kitchen team members to ensure smooth and efficient coordination of workflow and timely preparation of dishes. Communicate with team members and kitchen management regarding any issues or concerns related to food preparation, equipment maintenance, or kitchen operations.
Multi-tasking: Handle multiple tasks simultaneously, such as preparing multiple dishes at once, to meet the demands of the kitchen during peak hours.
Flexibility: Be adaptable to changing priorities and willing to assist in various areas of the kitchen as needed, including dishwashing, plating, and food assembly.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required. Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in food preparation.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects. Willingness to learn and take direction from kitchen supervisors.
$17.00 – $19.00 per hour • + tips
