Job Description

The Payment Application Specialist is responsible for posting patient and insurance payments and adjustments, reconciling electronic remittance advice and lockbox files, posting billing denials and preparing daily bank deposits. In addition, this role frequently collaborates with others involved with financial processes to resolve discrepancies and assure accurate transaction records. Participation in projects to improve/streamline transaction and payment processing with payers will be integral to this role.

Minimum Education

• Associate Degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Work Experience

• Two years’ experience with transactional accounting.
• Previous customer service experience.
• Previous data entry experience.
• One year of Medical billing experience preferred.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Demonstrated moderate knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Access skills.
• Demonstrated strong knowledge of basic computer skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of standard Accounting principles.
• Excellent organization skills, ability to prioritize and coordinate workload.
• Ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with both internal and external contacts.
• Attention to detail and good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Pay Range: $18.35 - $27.23
