Pine Hill Baptist Church is a 161-year-old Southern Baptist Church in rural Southwest Georgia. We are prayerfully seeking a full-time pastor whom God calls to lead and shepherd our congregation. The Pastor will lead and nurture our congregation and provide spiritual leadership and guidance to our church community. The central role is to proclaim God’s Word while ministering to Spiritual needs and providing Biblical leadership for the church. Particular emphasis should also be placed on multiplying disciples by developing leaders and creating an active body of Christ where everyone participates in service to the Lord.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Prepare and deliver engaging weekly sermons and lead worship services
· Offer support and counseling to individuals and families.
· Motivate, equip, and nurture the church’s people through example, preaching, and teaching of God’s Word.
· Make contact / visit hospitalized or grieving church members.
· Perform baptisms and officiate the Lord’s Supper.
· Develop small group structures and small group leaders and mobilize believers for activities in the service to the Lord.
· Lead /participate in regular education program planning meetings.
· Lead /participate in choosing and securing the most suitable educational and curriculum materials.
· Fully support Pine Hill Baptist Church’s unified operating budget and avoid soliciting or expending funds not previously authorized.
· Serve as an effective liaison to assigned ministry teams and standing committees.
· Full agreement to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and adhering to Pine Hill Baptist Church’s bylaws and constitution.
Basic Personal Responsibilities:
· Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study, prayer, and meditation.
· Maintain proper priorities in your home and be the spiritual leader to your wife and children.
· Develop personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church.
