Job Overview:

Silvconnect is seeking Punjabi Interpreters to provide Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI) services. As an interpreter, you will facilitate communication between Punjabi-speaking individuals and English-speaking professionals in medical, legal, business, government, and customer service settings . This role is critical in ensuring accurate, clear, and culturally appropriate communication.

Responsibilities:

Interpret live conversations between Punjabi-speaking individuals and professionals while maintaining accuracy, neutrality, and confidentiality .

Provide interpretation in healthcare, legal, financial, social services, and emergency situations .

Follow industry standards and ethical guidelines to ensure the quality of service.

Adapt quickly to different topics, accents, and speech styles while keeping the message clear.

Accurately interpret cultural nuances to ensure precise communication.

Maintain composure and professionalism , even in high-stress environments.

Requirements:

✅ Native or near-native fluency in Punjabi and English .

✅ Experience in Over-the-Phone Interpreting (OPI) or Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) is preferred.

✅ Certification or formal training in interpretation is a plus.

✅ Strong listening, memory retention, and note-taking skills .

✅ Ability to remain neutral and professional in all conversations.

✅ Cultural awareness to ensure accurate interpretation in diverse contexts.

✅ Technical requirements: Stable internet connection , reliable computer or phone , and a quiet workspace .
