Job Description

LaSalle Network is in search of an Ocean Export Operations Agent for one of our established, industry-leading clients within air freight forwarding. This role involves managing the end-to-end export operations process, ensuring seamless coordination with clients, carriers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ocean export procedures, documentation, and compliance regulations, as well as a commitment to providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced logistics environment.



Ocean Export Operations Agent Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage all aspects of ocean export shipments from origin to destination, including booking cargo, preparing documentation, and arranging transportation
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements and company policies
• Prepare and review export documentation such as bills of lading, certificates of origin, invoices and packing lists
• Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of shipments and resolve any issues that arise during transit
• Monitor shipment status and provide updates to clients and internal teams, addressing inquiries and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
• Collaborate with internal departments, including sales and customer service, to support business objectives and address client needs
• Maintain accurate records and files for all export transactions, ensuring proper documentation for audits and compliance reviews
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the export operations workflow

Ocean Export Operations Agent Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in ocean export operations, freight forwarding, or logistics
• Strong knowledge of ocean freight procedures, documentation, and international trade regulations
• Familiarity with industry-specific software, such as Cargowise or other Transportation Management Systems (TMS), is a plus
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with clients, carriers and internal teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook
• Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service
• Ability to problem-solve and resolve issues proactively and efficiently
