TITLE: Night Shipping Supervisor

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Night Shipping Supervisor, under the supervision of the Operations Manager, is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily warehouse activities such as supervising staff, training, food safety, safety, and warehouse maintenance.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Night Shipping Supervisor is responsible for supervising and leading warehouse staff, ensuring they meet productivity and safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with safety codes, policies, and procedures of the Company and standards established by Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA).
• Champion safety procedures, processes, and training to create and maintain a safety-first culture in the warehouse.
• Ensure compliance of Safe Quality Food (SQF)
• Conduct regular safety inspections.
• Oversee warehouse maintenance, including equipment, facilities, and cleanliness.
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance tasks as needed to ensure a smooth operation.
• Manage the organization of products and optimize warehouse space.
• Maintaining records, reporting relevant information, and preparing any necessary documentation.
• Communicating and coordinating with other departments and customers.
• Working closely with the Warehouse Operations Managers to provide constant improvements to existing processes.
• Performs additional duties as requested.
• Assist other departments as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team of Warehouse employes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex Problems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
• Familiarity with warehouse equipment
• Works well with others.
• The ability to consistently meet deadlines.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Degree in business, management, logistics or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of safe quality food (SQF)

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands may be lifting and lowering heavy items, bending, reaching overhead, pushing, and pulling heavy loads, working in awkward body postures, and performing the same or similar tasks repetitively. Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist, or lifting as required throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques are required. May include lifting up to 50 pounds. The temperature in the dry warehouse can range from 45 degrees in the winter to 95 degrees in the summer. Temperatures in the cooler range from 35 degrees to 41 degrees and from -5 degrees to 20 degrees in the freezer.
