Job Title: News Anchor
WINK News , the trusted news leader in Southwest Florida, is seeking an experienced and charismatic
Morning News Anchor to lead our flagship morning newscast. This is a marquee position for an accomplished journalist who excels at connecting with viewers, delivering impactful stories, and driving audience engagement. As the face of our morning news, you’ll be at the forefront of setting the tone for the day in one of the most dynamic news markets in the country.
Key Responsibilities: - Anchor weekday newscasts, ensuring accurate and engaging delivery of news stories.
- Collaborate with producers, reporters, and other newsroom staff to develop and present news content that resonates with our audience.
- Write and edit news scripts for accuracy, clarity, and conciseness.
- Actively participate in editorial meetings daily to discuss story ideas, provide input.
- Engage with viewers through social media platforms.
- Represent WINK News at community events and public appearances, fostering positive relationships with viewers and stakeholders.
- Stay informed about local, national, and international news events, maintaining a high level of journalistic integrity and ethics.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a News Anchor or Reporter in a medium to large market.
- Exceptional on-air presence with strong vocal delivery and presentation skills.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle breaking news situations calmly and effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of the Southwest Florida region and its key issues and events is a huge plus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays for newscasts and special events.
