Marketing Intern – Digital Media Focus

The 4Roots Foundation is dedicated to unearthing the power of food to build healthy communities. We are seeking a creative, motivated, and digitally savvy Marketing Intern to support our growing marketing efforts across social media, email, and web platforms.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mission-driven storytelling and digital communications while contributing to meaningful work that impacts our community.

What will you do as a Marketing Intern?

  • Assist in developing and implementing marketing strategies that elevate the 4Roots brand and mission.
  • Create, curate, and produce engaging digital content for social media channels, including photography, reels, and stories.
  • Support content planning, posting, and monitoring performance across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Assist with email marketing campaigns in Constant Contact, including drafting content, designing templates, tracking analytics, and helping grow our subscriber community.
  • Help maintain and update the 4Roots website, ensuring content is current, accurate, and aligned with organizational initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the team to plan, produce, and execute marketing campaigns, including grassroots outreach, events, and digital initiatives.
  • Participate in content gathering across the Farm Campus, including capturing storytelling moments, program highlights, partner features, and behind-the-scenes activity.
  • Assist with administrative marketing tasks and project coordination as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What knowledge, skills and qualities do you need?

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a passion for purposeful storytelling.
  • Proficiency in major social media platforms and familiarity with digital marketing tools (Canva, Mailchimp/Constant Contact, scheduling tools, basic analytics).
  • Interest or experience in content production, including photo/video creation and editing.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple projects with strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Creative mindset with a willingness to experiment, learn, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiasm for marketing, digital media, and the 4Roots mission.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Experience in agriculture, education, or nonprofit environments is a bonus.
  • 1–2 years of marketing, digital media, or event support experience preferred, but not required.
