Applicants must have an education or professional background in art and/or photography and a strong interest in contemporary Chinese photography. Only candidates with previous work experience in an art gallery or museum need apply.The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills in Mandarin and English (written and spoken), have leadership ability, and be an independent thinker and problem solver.Main duties include:- Ensure all gallery daily operations run smoothly, including exhibition preparations, media relations, marketing, and information management- Writing press releases- Attending to clients and interested visitors- Oversee administrative dutiesPreference will be given to candidates with:- High level of professionalism- Strong ability to work independently- Ability to diagnose problems and initiate solutions- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills- Writing and editing, database and advanced computer skills- Demonstrated ability to multitask in a demanding environment and to follow through with tasks- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and keep them within budget, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines- Proficiency with Mac OS, Photoshop and other graphic design applications- Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.Please send letter of interest and resume in English before July 27 to Mercedes Valle-Harris, Associate Director, at [login to view email].
