DEPARTMENT: OUTPATIENT FAMILY MEDICINE SALARY: $36.97/hr. - $43.05 /hr. DOE

The Department of Ambulatory Care at Jamaica Hospital provides patients with a wide array of primary and specialty care in an outpatient setting. The department operates a main on-campus center and 9 other locations conveniently located throughout Queens and East New York. Our modern fully equipped medical facilities provide a full and comprehensive range of services for children and adults. We are currently seeking experienced Licensed Practical Nurses with current or recent Urgent Care or Outpatient Clinic experience for immediate full-time day shift opportunities in our Queens and Brooklyn Ambulatory Clinics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Selected candidates will administer care to patients of all ages, gender, and ailments.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Assisting Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, RNs, and other members of the health care team with collecting data and rooming patients. Substitute-collecting data
• Document nursing observations, interventions, and patient’s response to treatment
• Perform vital signs, administer medications, perform electrocardiograms and assist with scheduling appointments when needed.
• Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy for lab tests.
• Collect and perform point-of-care testing (POCT).
• Review and maintain vaccine documentation.
• Graduate of accredited school for licensed practical nursing
• NYS Licensed Practical Nurse
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience, in an ambulatory care setting (ie. Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience, in an ambulatory care setting (ie. physician office, urgent care clinic, primary care clinic, ambulatory surgery center (ASC), retail clinic, community health center, dialysis center, and or freestanding emergency department.
