Seeking a permanent litigation legal assistant with 1+ years of Personal Injury plaintiff experience or family law experience. Assists attorneys in preparation for meetings with witnesses, clients, officers, and experts; depositions; hearings; mediation; trial; and client closing. Draft correspondence, pleadings, and discovery answers. Draft expert witness designations, motions, pre-trial scheduling orders, complaints, subpoenas, and subpoenas duces tecum. Redact medical bills for use at trial. Schedule all trial-related meetings. Calculate and calendar court deadlines. File pleadings in state and federal courts, the Court of appeals, and the Virginia Supreme Court. Manage and audit liens, including liens associated with ERISA, Medicare, Medicaid, and workers' compensation. Work within a case management system. Other duties as assigned.
