Job Description

Overview:

This individual oversees inventory control and quality assurance operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with established warehouse or distribution center protocols. They manage a team responsible for inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and identifying areas for process improvement. This role is an exempt, salaried position, as defined by the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Due to the required strategic collaboration with other people (supervisory) and non-people management roles and/or while working directly with clients, the daily success of this role depends on consistently meeting and/or surpassing key performance indicators (KPIs) and various service level agreements (SLAs). To achieve what is expected of the role, the position must cover entire shifts, including work time outside its regular scheduled hours, including weekends and holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct audits of inventory processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards, and implement corrective actions as needed ("audit the auditor").
  2. Allocate labor resources to the team based on the priority of daily activities, optimizing efficiency and productivity.
  3. Ensure prompt responses to Target driven recall emails, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to address any inventory concerns swiftly and effectively.
  4. Compile and send end-of-shift reports detailing inventory performance and any notable incidents or observations.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized workspace following the 5S methodology, promoting safety and efficiency in inventory handling.
  6. Foster collaboration with operations and other support teams to streamline inventory control processes and address any cross-functional challenges.
  7. Ensure that all audit quantity expectations are met during each shift, monitoring performance metrics and taking proactive measures to maintain accuracy.
  8. Problem-solve issues that arise during inventory control activities, utilizing analytical skills and practical knowledge to resolve challenges efficiently.
  9. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory control processes, identifying areas for optimization and implementing solutions to drive efficiency.
  10. Provide leadership and support to the ICQA team, offering guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure team members perform effectively and contribute to overall departmental goals.
  11. Oversee and manage time approvals and edits for associates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Strong understanding of inventory control principles and best practices, including cycle counting, reconciliation, and auditing techniques.
  2. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively identify and address inventory discrepancies and operational inefficiencies.
  3. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools to generate meaningful insights and facilitate informed decision-making.
  4. Exceptional organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks, allocate resources efficiently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  5. Practical communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with cross-functional teams, communicate inventory-related updates, and resolve issues promptly.
  6. Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  7. Leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of ICQA associates, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
  8. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software to facilitate accurate inventory data tracking, monitoring, and reporting.
  9. Adaptability and flexibility to respond to changing priorities, operational demands, and unexpected challenges in a dynamic warehouse environment.
  10. Commitment to continuous learning and improvement, staying updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best inventory control and quality assurance practices.
  11. Self-motivated and proactive, able to independently drive tasks and projects forward without constant supervision.

The associate will carry out their tasks in a warehouse setting that may experience varying temperatures. The associate may be required to navigate the warehouse to operate machinery and utilize other equipment, potentially extending up near ceiling level. The associates must be able to endure long periods of standing and may occasionally need to walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
