Position Description:
The Division of Child and Adult Nutrition Services is hiring a summer intern position. Interns will work with department staff to identify and prioritize projects.

This internship will complete short-term projects to increase visibility and operation of the Child Nutrition Programs and Food Distribution Programs offices and federal nutrition programs, like the National School Lunch Program. Work may include, but is not limited to, evaluation of projects and presentations; website and shared drive organization; creating presentations, webinars, brochures, or handouts on topics such as meal patterns, sodium reduction, resource management, program promotion, or best practices; working with available data regarding eligibility for nutrition programs; preparing and organizing materials for conferences; preparing and/or reviewing data for local, state, and federal reports.

• Applicant should have knowledge of and ability to work with Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Applicant should have experience or coursework in nutrition, health, or education.

Qualifications:
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.

All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
