Job Description

Position Overview:

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day field operations of the portable toilet and waste collection services. This includes managing service routes, supervising drivers and yard staff, ensuring proper maintenance of equipment, and enforcing safety and compliance standards. The role plays a key part in maintaining service quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

• Monitors field operations to ensure services are completed on schedule and in line with customer expectations.
• Coordinates with dispatch to adjust routes and assignments as needed for efficiency or special requests.

Staff Supervision:

• Oversees the activities of drivers, and yard personnel.
• Provides ongoing coaching, training, and support to field staff.
• Conducts daily check-ins, tailgate talks, and performance evaluations.

Equipment & Inventory Oversight:

• Ensures all portable toilets, garbage bins, service trucks, and related equipment are maintained and cleaned according to company standards.
• Tracks inventory levels of consumables (chemicals, paper products, etc.) and coordinates restocking.
• Schedules preventative maintenance and repairs with the maintenance team or external vendors.

Customer Service Support:

• Acts as a point of contact for escalated service issues and coordinates appropriate resolution.
• Works with the sales and admin teams to ensure special job requirements are communicated and fulfilled.
• Conducts periodic field checks to ensure service quality.

Compliance & Safety:

• Enforces safety protocols and ensures compliance with DOT, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
• Maintains records for inspections, incident reports, and other regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Three (3) to Five (5) years’ experience in operations, logistics, or field service supervision, preferably in sanitation or waste management.
• Ability to lead field crews and manage schedules in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of service vehicles, portable sanitation units, and related equipment.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.

Working Conditions:

• Combination of office work and outdoor field supervision.
• Physical work environment involving exposure to weather, heavy lifting, and equipment operation.
• May require early morning starts, occasional weekend or emergency response coverage.
