Ahlers & Ogletree Auction Gallery, the leading full-service Fine Art and Antique Auction House located in Atlanta, Georgia is seeking a  Full-Time Generalist Cataloguer.  Responsibilities include researching potential auction items, creating listings, writing catalog descriptions, providing auction estimates, proofreading catalogs, and executing condition reports. Responsibilities also include assisting with the marketing of each sale and working the previews and auctions as needed.

Requirements:

• Candidate will have at least 1 year of work experience in the auction or personal property appraisal industries and have a broad knowledge spanning: fine art, antique and modern furniture, and decorative arts. Ideal candidates will have more than 4 years of industry experience.
• The applicant must be able to work independently and in a detailed manner in a fast-paced workplace environment and manage productivity to meet tight auction deadlines.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated interest in the auction business and able to follow cataloging standards.
• Excellent organizational skills: accuracy and thoroughness, including proofreading skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace and an ability to learn the latest programs with efficiency and ease is essential. The candidate should also have proficiency in researching via specialized online databases.
• Comfortable with light physical labor such as lifting boxes, unpacking shipments, and setting up for auction previews.
• Able to travel to appointments within the Atlanta area as needed.
• Excellent communication skills.
