Job Summary

The ERW Tube Mill Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining Electric Resistance Welded (ERW) tube mill equipment to produce high-quality steel tubes according to specifications. This role involves setting up machinery, monitoring production processes, performing quality checks, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Operation : Operate ERW tube mill equipment, including setup, calibration, and adjustments to meet production specifications.
• Quality Control : Perform regular inspections of tubes to ensure they meet dimensional, weld, and surface quality standards.
• Maintenance : Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of tube mill equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
• Material Handling : Load raw materials (steel coils) into the mill and manage finished product output.
• Process Monitoring : Monitor production parameters such as welding temperature, speed, and pressure to maintain consistent output.
• Safety Compliance : Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Documentation : Record production data, maintenance logs, and quality control results accurately.
• Team Collaboration : Work closely with supervisors, quality control personnel, and other operators to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Education : High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in manufacturing or mechanical systems preferred.
• Experience : Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating ERW tube mills or similar manufacturing equipment.
• Technical Skills :
• Knowledge of ERW tube manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with quality control tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
• Physical Requirements :
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
• Soft Skills :
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in a manufacturing plant with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery.
• Shift work, including nights, weekends, and overtime, may be required.
• Proper safety gear (e.g., steel-toe boots, helmets, gloves) is mandatory.
