Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will maintain and enhance hardware-in-the-loop test systems, develop new components to support testing requirements, and create tools to improve productivity. This role involves mentoring junior engineers, assisting other teams, and contributing to strategic decisions. A strong background in LabVIEW, system design, and debugging combined hardware and software systems is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and support existing hardware-in-the-loop test systems, addressing issues and configuring systems to meet testing goals.
• Refactor systems to enhance usability, stability, maintainability, and efficiency.
• Develop new software and hardware components to support emerging testing requirements.
• Create internal tools to improve productivity and streamline testing tasks.
• Assist other teams with testing tools and provide domain expertise beyond immediate test infrastructure support.
• Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
• Contribute to strategic decisions and prioritize team tasks and goals.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Active or Interim Secret Clearance.
• 5+ years of CLA or equivalent LabVIEW experience.
• Proficiency in source revision control and code reviews.
• Ability to design user-friendly systems that simplify configuration steps.
• Expertise in designing systems to maximize uptime and minimize maintenance through code optimization and thorough testing.
• Strong documentation skills for troubleshooting steps and procedures.
• Experience in systematic debugging of combined hardware and software systems.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory test tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes) and electrical concepts (continuity, voltage/current/resistance, grounding, etc.).
