VP / Director of Preconstruction – Commercial General Contractor

Location - Lincolnton, NC

Salary - $140,000 – $180,000 per annum base + profit sharing

I’m working with a mid-sized commercial general contractor that has a strong foothold in public sector construction—particularly K-12 and higher education projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership role with real influence on the future direction of the company.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead all aspects of the preconstruction process including estimating, budgeting, value engineering, and bid management
• Oversee and develop the preconstruction team, including hiring and mentorship
• Work closely with ownership and leadership to help guide company strategy and growth
• Collaborate with clients, architects, and internal teams to deliver accurate and competitive proposals
• Implement and refine processes and systems to improve preconstruction efficiency
• Represent the company in key pursuits and presentations

What You'll Need:

• Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership role within preconstruction
• In-depth knowledge of public sector projects, particularly K-12 and higher education
• Background working with a commercial general contractor
• A passion for building and leading high-performing teams
• Strategic thinker with excellent communication and client-facing skills
• A construction-related degree is preferred, though equivalent industry experience will also be considered
