Director of Engineering | Luxury Coastal Resort

Location: Coastal Southeast U.S.

Salary: $155k-$165k + bonus + relocation assistance

An award-winning, oceanfront luxury resort is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead all aspects of facilities management, safety systems, and capital projects across the property. This is a hands-on executive role within a highly regarded destination known for its refined service, natural beauty, and Forbes-level guest experience.

About the Role:

You’ll oversee the integrity, efficiency, and safety of all physical structures and systems—from HVAC, mechanicals, and preventative maintenance to capital project planning. The ideal candidate blends operational leadership with technical acumen, ensuring seamless service delivery across the resort’s high-touch guest environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all engineering, maintenance, and life safety operations across the resort
• Develop and manage departmental budgets, CAPEX plans, and energy conservation initiatives
• Oversee preventive/reactive maintenance programs with a high attention to guest impact
• Direct team performance, training, and task delegation across multiple shifts
• Maintain vendor relationships, compliance protocols, and inventory of parts and tools
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of property systems and infrastructure
• Support sustainability and environmental efforts aligned with brand standards

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of leadership experience in engineering or facilities, ideally within a luxury hotel or resort
• Expertise in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, energy management, and mechanical systems
• Proven ability to manage teams, vendors, and multi-phase projects
• Knowledge of relevant codes and regulations (local/national fire, electrical, mechanical, ADA, etc.)
• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree or certifications in Engineering, Facilities, or related fields preferred
