Job Description

A leading publicly traded infrastructure and construction company, valued at over $5 billion, is expanding its corporate legal presence in the U.S. The company is building out its U.S. legal function following a recent acquisition.

Role Overview

The Corporate Counsel will be the sole legal team member in the company’s New Jersey office, supporting business operations, M&A activity, and compliance initiatives. This position reports to the General Counesl with extensive tenure at the company and will collaborate with cross-functional teams across tax, finance, real estate, procurement, and IT. Looking for Attorneys around the 3–6-year mark of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements.
• Assess legal risks in transactions, contracts, and operational matters.
• Provide legal support for M&A transactions, working with internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage and collaborate with outside counsel.
• Advise business leaders on legal and compliance matters related to infrastructure and construction.
• Support compliance initiatives, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• J.D. and licensed to practice law in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or New York.
• 4-6 years of legal experience, ideally with in-house exposure.
• Experience in construction law or infrastructure-related industries preferred.
• Strong contract negotiation and risk assessment skills.
• Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
