Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center – Opening in 2025!

When open in early 2025, Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health will be the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years! This teaching hospital will integrate clinical care with existing providers, The George Washington University Hospital, and the Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This clinical integration will establish a robust system of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community.

This full-service hospital will include 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for physician offices, clinics, a community space, a 500-car garage and a helipad for emergency transports.

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Educator (Full Time)

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of unit/department-based nursing educational initiatives to ensure the provision of high quality, cost-effective patient care. This position is filled by an advanced practice nurse who, as a result of educational and in-depth clinical experience in designated area of specialty nursing, possesses the advanced knowledge and necessary clinical skills to provide unit/department based nursing education, orientation, and on-boarding; applies expert knowledge to act as a change agent, role model and leader for quality nursing care; guides nurses on the care of patients within the specific patient population; ensures quality focused and cost-effective education and care delivery outcomes; utilizes theory, research, evidenced-based research and guidelines, and specialized knowledge to plan care for the specific patient population; collaborates to enhance quality of care; interprets, evaluates and communicates research findings; and participates in continuous quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in nursing (and/or Education).  If master’s in education must have BSN (Preferred Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or CNS/Nurse Practitioner).
  • Certification in specialty (CNS and/or Education preferred) required within 1 year from start date
  • Minimum of five years of direct-care nursing experience
  • Nursing Education and/or Nursing managerial/leadership experience preferred
  • Current certification of Basic Life Support for Health Care Professionals
