About the Role 

Are you a certified group fitness instructor or personal trainer who’s ready to lead, coach, and grow within a high-performance boutique fitness community? MAX Fitness & Wellness of Hillsborough is hiring a full-time Assistant Manager to support our center’s daily operations, coaching excellence, and member experience, all while building your future in fitness leadership. 

This is a people-first, high-impact role that blends fitness coaching, coordination, sales, and community-building. You'll help drive class instruction, team support, and operational execution to deliver our signature 10-week Challenge experience and year-round programs. 

Who You Are 

• A certified fitness professional (group fitness or personal training) from a nationally accredited organization, or 

• A current MAX-certified instructor with 1+ years of class coaching experience 

• A natural leader who thrives on helping people succeed, members and teammates alike 

• A confident communicator who’s equally comfortable coaching classes and leading events 

• A team player with a flexible mindset, who’s willing to roll up their sleeves when needed

What You'll Do 

• Teach 10-12 45-minute group fitness classes per week across HIIT, Strength, and Cardio Kickboxing formats.

• Help manage the class schedule, coordinate subs, and shadow/train new instructors 

• Support local marketing events and attend at least two weekend community events per month 

• Assist the Center Manager with lead follow-up, membership sales, and member retention efforts 

• Capture content for social media and promotional campaigns 

• Keep accurate member records using ClubReady, MAX Connect, and other systems 

• Uphold safety, cleanliness, and a high-energy environment at the center 

• Represent MAX in a way that inspires others to live stronger, healthier lives 

Qualifications 

• Current CPR/AED certification 

• Valid group fitness or personal training certification (NASM, AFAA, ACE, etc.) 

• OR MAX Instructor Certification with 1+ year of coaching in The MAX model 

• Comfortable working a flexible 40-hour schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends based on center needs 

• Familiar with (or able to learn) platforms like ClubReady, Go High Level, and Fran Connect 

Compensation & Perks 

• $40,000 - $45,000 year base salary 

• Performance bonuses available after a 90-day probation period 

• 5 days PTO after 90 days | 15 total days PTO after 180 days

Important Notes 

• This is a local role. No relocation assistance is available.
