DoorDash is enhancing its new verticals grocery experience. You will be joining a small team responsible for ensuring that we are able to source and purchase grocery items to fulfill customer orders in full to the best of our ability. This role will include proactively purchasing items and possibly making real-time substitution decisions when needed. To succeed in this role, you will need strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills, along with a solid understanding of grocery products and categories. You will be ensuring that DoorDash provides an exceptional service experience by going above and beyond to secure fresh, accurate, and high-quality grocery items for customers. This will be a remote role covering a 9am 5pm ET shift. You're excited about this opportunity because you will Proactively purchase grocery items to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently Confirm item availability and make thoughtful, customer-first substitution decisions when items are out of stock Execute workflows that ensure grocery orders are fulfilled with a high level of quality, freshness, and accuracy Be part of a collaborative team that prides itself on operational excellence and delivering a best-in-class grocery experience on an industry-leading technology platform We're excited about you because You have a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent amount of work experience You have 1+ years of experience in a fast-paced grocery, retail, buying, merchandising, or fulfillment role You are highly motivated and able to work independently while managing multiple grocery orders or priorities simultaneously You are a natural problem solver, comfortable making real-time purchasing and substitution decisions when no predefined solution exists You have strong written communication skills, including clear documentation and concise internal communication You are above average in technological fluency Bonus points for Familiarity with G-Suite and Slack Previous experience in grocery buying, store operations, inventory management, or order picking/fulfillment
